Diversity Working Group - Mentorship and Profile Raising

The Mentorship and Profile Raising Subcommittee is focused on two goals: (i) developing and implementing a formal mentorship program that seeks to build relationships between young diverse insolvency professionals and senior insolvency professionals to facilitate the retention and success of the mentees in order to promote diversity in ABI and its leadership, and the insolvency profession; and (ii) identifying and providing opportunities for diverse ABI members to help such individuals come to the forefront of ABI and the insolvency profession through serving in ABI leadership positions, speaking on panels and in CLE programs, and writing for ABI’s various publications, among other roles and activities.

Diversity Working Group - Pipeline Programs

Knowing that longstanding change often starts at the root, the Pipeline Programs Subcommittee is working to create a strong pipeline to a more diverse and inclusive future for the bankruptcy bench and bar.

We are working to introduce diverse law students to the bankruptcy and related fields as career paths; encourage greater diversity in judicial externships and clerkships and CLE programs; and partner and support other organizations with similar missions and goals.

Diversity Working Group - Training Programs, Accessibility, and Gender Diversity

The TAG subcommittee is focused on five main goals: (1) facilitating CLE/formal training programs, including those on implicit bias, gender expression and identity, and inclusion of diverse professionals; (2) promoting awareness of DEI efforts, including through the ABI Journal and communication from ABI leadership; (3) addressing age diversity; (4) addressing mental health; and (5) ensuring accessibility by monitoring and increasing program access for all attendees while considering barriers to participation for virtual and in-person events.
